Dynamic Entrepreneur, visionary Leader and a compassionate Philanthropist, Mr H M Shamsuddin is the founder and Chairman of Shams Group of Companies and its subsidiaries. His extra-ordinary personality and total dedication to his work was instrumental in transforming a small personal endeavor into one of the fastest growing corporate house in Bangladesh.
Respected for leading an exemplary life, Mr Shamsuddin has been one of the industry pioneers who had an immeasurable contribution in the logistics sector, especially in the fields of Heavy Lift and Project cargo movement.
Born in Pirojpur in 1953, Mr Shamsuddin started his career by working in the day in a Shipping Agency in 1975 while still being a student, attending the night shift of Sundarban College, Khulna.
He started his own business in 1978 when he established MK Khan and Company, a C&F and Transport Agency. That was the beginning of an illustrious journey for this young, energetic and vibrant entrepreneur and he never had to look back from that moment on.
His visionary leadership, strict adherence to integrity and honesty combined with extra ordinary business acumen made him a very well respected figure within the business community of his field and he lead the way with pioneer extraordinaire; cementing a strong position for Shams Group and all its subsidiaries in their respective sector.
Known for living a simple life, he believes in giving back to society in gratefulness for what it has given him over the years. He is a passionate and devoted philanthropist who has invested heavily and personally involved in providing medical and education facility to the poorest of the society and has set up various schools that provide free education to hundreds of poverty-stricken young boys and girls whose family would not be able to support their education. Mr Shamsuddin also contributes heavily in forms of charitable money to help the poor financially. His benevolence and affection to help those in need has earned him a great deal of respect, especially in his native district where he was born, Pirojpur.
In his personal life, Mr Shamsuddin is happily married to Mrs H Nessa for past 42 years and they are proud parents of 4 children and have 7 grandchildren.
